Actually, I heard they don't value dental as much as other beauty qualities, unlike the west.

I've seen a lot of white people with bad teeth.

I mean teeth aren't as important over there as over here in America.

the last time i saw a japanese girl irl was a couple of weeks ago. about 5'6 in height and gorgeous - nice butt and legs too, if i may say so. i thought she was korean at first until i heard her speaking japanese.

geezz...why do people always assume? of all the japanese chicks i've seen, most of them were very beautiful, of medium height, and had GOOD, straight teeth. Of course, they were japanese-americans/canadians, raised up in north america. the only difference btw them and other east asian chicks was they had bigger racks. and that's a GOOD thing. I saw a Japanese woman a while ago, btw. In her mid to late 20s. About 5'4. Looks medium in height. I thought she was Korean until I heard her speak. The Japanese guy she was with looked a bit Chinese and Korean mixed, sort of the nerdy with glasses and tight pants, type.

the japanese in america have straight teeth. Its just the ones in Japan. I dont think Japan emphasize the importance of dental health enough.

well.. i know that in japan they dont look to dental work as much as westerners cuz its not as important. but being in japan several times, i noticed a lot of japanese people (not only girls) who had crooked teeth. but dental work is starting to get more popular in japan slowly. there was even a trend of unorganized teeth as being cute because some celebrities and models had such teeth (they gave a name for it . i forgot).

I think people think it´s only cute for girls, but guys do have to have good teeth.
It´s interesting how they (japanese women especially) spend so much care and money on their skin, and less on their teeth. While american people do not care so much for their skin, and take normal care of their teeth.

But I´m sure it´s clean, just the appearance doesn´t matter so much to some.
And there are exceptions of course.
Most celebs do have straight (and white teeth) though. Like Shimatani Hitomi, Gackt, Ayumi Hamasaki, Takuya Kimura, and such.

Japan is probably the cleanest asian country. go to china if you want to find bad teeth. Sorry, but that's just the truth! Over 30% of the population have never even brushed their teeth in their entire lives according to TIME magazine.

Its not just crooked teeth its also the green discolorization and alot of them do have bad breath too. I was told that the japanese water system doesn't have any floride, that might be a reason. The whole time I've been in japan I might have seen 2 or 3 dental office total.

well dental care is really expensive in japan. and its not as stressed as western countries
