^Heh he's the deputy prime minister of Mahatir in Malaysia and soon to be prime Minister himself if he's not charged with the crime of sodomy in 1998.
Somehow there are rumours of power struggle between Mahatir and Anwar. Once second in power now out of the parlimen. So the ex-politician is coming to your school eh? Well I think it's better for you to go and listen to what he says. And if you can remember what he says post it here in the Malaysian forum. ^_^ |

I think you should go as well. He got charged with sodomy, however, there was not enough evidence to prove that he did and hence, got released from jail. If you've already know the democratic system here is a bit screwed up. So it'll be good to hear what he has to say.
@brucewayne: Kenapalah cakap Bahasa Melayu kat depan kunomchu tu. Kan dia dari US. Tak faham BM. @kunomchu: Do not worry. He is not bad mouthing you or anything. Actually I don't really know what he is talking about as well. |

Hmm roughly translates.. If you're afraid of getting hit by waves from the ocean, Then do not live in a house next to the beach, If you're afraid to take on a challange, Make an effort to discuss about ? Reformation?, (Reformasi?) If you're afraid of failure, Make an effort to discuss about success. Heheh well that's the rough translation. Don't know if it's entirely correct but sometimes Malay poems can have a hidden meaning behind them. Just like haiku or English poems. |

Yup. They always have a hidden meaning. It must have something to do with the "Reformasi" or "Keadilan". But I don't get him.

Hey, mind if you can ask him a question or two for me? :p For instance, why did he start calling for reformasi only after Mahathir kicked him out of office? Did he not see how corrupt and racist the administration was before then? Why did he wait for the currency crisis to act? Also, what achievements did he make as a statesman while he was in the government? (In other words, what's his track record? Seriously, all I know of him is that he introduced moral education, one of the worst subjects in school ever, and also introduced the RM1 coin, which is currently being removed from circulation.) If you could get hold of these answers, I'd be very grateful. (If there's no question session available, that's okay.)
zizou: Try following malaysia-today.net for news about opposition politicians. There's a news blackout among them in mainstream media because it's mostly owned by the government. Malaysia Today has published quite a few articles about Anwar lately, and they're all free. |
