Mm, I think you're mixing up names. According to Landnámabók, Iceland was discovered by Naddoddr around the year 850 when he sailed from Norway to Faroe Islands. Some also claim that Naddoddr was the very first Nordic man to discover North America - some 150 years before Leif Eriksson did around year 1000. Leif Eriksson is believed to be the second son of Eric the Red. The first permanent settler on Iceland is considered to be a Norwegian chieftain named Ingólfur Arnarson. I think it's great that they're protesting by the way. Better than sitting on your @$$ and do nothing about what happens around the world.
