Unless someone dies, I wouldn't consider it an outbreak.

Am I the only one who smells an American conspiracy behind alll this? I mean if I really cared about the future of America, that's what I would do in secret. Wipe out a bulk of the Chinese populations with a killer epidemic. Not that I think this should happen or anything, just a hunch. I mean think about it. The SARS and now Bird flu. It's as if China's a testing ground for all kinds of diseases. Southeast Asia and South America are even more tropical and they also have dense populations, so climate shouldn't be a factor here.

santa, your conspiracy story is outrageous but i guess quite possible, hmm...never thought of that yet. America, as terroristic as this country is, and as desperate as it is to hold on to its ever-so-brief domination of the world, might bring up $hit like that. Typical of declining empires
But on the less extreme note, i think these epidemics appear in china frequently for a couple reasons: 1. china has sanitation problems, hygenic problems, and bureaucratic problems. 2. China is fu-kin dense, and going industrial. Plus, pretty dirty too 3. China is a developing country that is cutting away at its forests for industrial/commercial/residential use. Viral epidemics appear at such societies, as nature's vitriolic retaliatory response to human encroachment. You see, nature has its own soul, and it frequently attacks human civilization at the fringes of it. (And no i did not pull this out of my @$$, anyone who studied microbiology and/or the history of epidemics would know that this is common interpretation among scientists and historians) This post has been edited by The Lateman: Oct 30 2005, 09:07 PM |
