i guess its what he sees himself as...but it makes me wonder why he uses a japanese name. if he was raised in taiwan, he should identify more with being chinese/taiwanese and use his chinese name. i dunno...i'm really not familiar w/ his movies.

I suppose it is up to him really. He could have just taken the Japanese name to help his career over there and it might not be indicative of any preference on his part.
