Yes, Bollywood is just another Aryan institution that must be destroyed.

Yeah, I watch Kollywood movies but not Tollywood movies cuz I don't understand the language. Most of the Tollywood (and Malluwood) hits are usually remade and sometimes dubbed in Kollywood and vice versa so in a way I guess I've watched them too. They're not available for rent where I live either. I download or watch them online. The quality sux most of the time and it takes an awful lot of time to download them but I'm kinda used to it by now. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif)

I really don't like all these cheesy Hollywood spin-off names like Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood, and even Lollywood!? I would prefer calling them Hindi, Tamil, Telegu, Bengali, Pakistani film industries, instead of those cheesy names.

I've seen a few Tamil, Bengali and Pakistani films. The Tamil films I've seen were already dubbed in Hindi. Pakistani films are quite easy to understand since Urdu is similar to Hindi. My parents usually watch Bengali films, since they're Bengali but I don't understand them much, since I don't really speak standard Bengali, I only know the Sylheti language.

They really need to ditch the, "wood," at the ending. It really sounds silly.

Lollywood is named after Lahore, where the Pakistan film industry is located. I've even seen some Pakistanis refer to their music industry as Lolly-pop! LOL! (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif)

Bollywood was a name given by foreigners to the Indian film industry. It just caught on for some reason.

As for all of those other names, they are just silly satirical titles for other prominent South Asian movie industries.......lol

"Bollywood" was first used by some white guy who wrote a murder mystery novel set in Bombay (now Mumbai). He must have been a genius to come up with a name like that...

But why the hell did Indians even continue using it?

Pakistani films are so funny, it's always a guy with a machine gun screaming at the top of his voice and beating a girl. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

But kudos to the drama serials, they're pretty good. Sri Lankhan films are nice , but don't understand the language.

It's a brand now, it has market recognition. Also, my understanding is that the first use of Bollywood was actually by an Indian journalist in the 70s.
