I think both are really pretty. But I have to go with the Cheong Sum. It's really pretty. I bought one and wore it for Halloween. (don't ask me why....sure.gif) It was light blue and it was so silky. ^_^ Maybe I should buy one for my concerts next year.

Although both dresses are appealing, i pick the Cheong Sam- it's more modern. Like someone said, i also think the Kimono looks like a wearable art piece.

Haha no I implying you must have had a 'scary' design on your cheong sam since you wore it for Halloween. Of course it is sarcasm as cheong sams are very beautiful and you don't have to dress 'scary' on Halloween outfits.

Sorry. icon_sad.gif

It's okay tongbao_vince, I'm not made at you. icon_wink.gif Yup yup no scaryness on me. It had the designs of flower and the branch of a cherry blossom tree. Really pretty. And I put my hair up in some chinese chopsticks you use for hair. Ah, I loved that dress.

I find the two traditional dresses still worn today very attractive. I think chicks should wear them more often, not just during special occasion.

what'ya all think?

Cheong Sams hands down, the modern one anyway with the above knee length and sleeveless...aikes so sexy.

Three occasions where I was totally blown away by cHeongsams:

1. First professional job as an Graduate bean counter - dear lord, the Chinese lady who worked at the place wore a Cheongsam for our Xmas party, I was totally glued to her, it helps if you have a well nice slim, proportioned BUT curvy body.

2. Again in the 1st job about a year later, the same lady wore it once to work on a "custume" day, don't know why the firm had those silly event days but anyhoo, when she walked past the corridor, our office were set up something like this:
|
Desk | Desk
|
-------- ---------------

Corridor/Hallway

--------- -----------
|
Desk | Desk
|

| = wall divider (about 1.3m in height)
--- = front of desk

Gee, she walked past with the slit showing and may I add, it was so high you can see the G string line flashed, I couldnt concentrate for the rest of the day, Im sure the rest of the straight guys couldn't either.

3. At a Chinese New Years event, gee so many pretty girls there in cheong sams.
