Everybody protested then, mostly just for the sake of protesting.
From the looks of the signs, the "Asian American Polish Alliance" is protesting the release of some Huey fellow. This post has been edited by Miroku Bosatsu: Dec 18 2005, 04:55 AM |

QUOTE (Miroku Bosatsu @ Dec 18 2005, 05:54 AM) Everybody protested then, mostly just for the sake of protesting. From the looks of the signs, the "Asian American Polish Alliance" is protesting the release of some Huey fellow. Asian American Political Alliance, founded by Yuji Ichioka out of Berkeley. QUOTE In 1968, when Black Panther leader Huey Newton was on trial in Oakland, charged with killing a police officer, Ichioka marched with the members of his newly created Asian American Political Alliance. He did not agree with Newton's politics, he told The Times in a 1997 interview, but he thought Newton, like all citizens, deserved to be treated fairly by his government. The next year, UCLA established the Asian American Studies Center and Ichioka taught the first course. http://www.sscnet.ucla.edu/aasc/change/yuji2002.html This is the beginning of Asian American political activism. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/crazy.gif) It's completely absurd I tell you. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I like it.
Ladies & Gentlemen, these r the people who started it all...to help the future unborn & bak than in 1969, the just born (Asian North Americans)...more accepted in a Western Imperialist controlled nation. Although the year is almost 2006, it's still an uphill battle. However, I salute to the founders. :genius: & lastly down with the hardcore Asian American Female's, tree hugging hooligan W/M luvers. You have destroyed what, the above protesters stood for by jumping onto the Western Imperialist nations way of life. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumbsdown.gif) |
