I am wondering if the manchus sided with the nationalist or communist after the fall of the last emperor of China. Did the Manchus join the communist or the nationalist or did they left china...? I dont know if anyone can answer this question...

They sided with the Japanese, and after 1949, well, what else were they going to do?

Assume you meant they side with KMT or CCP after breakout of Civil War in 1946-
Manchuguo's army sided with the communists. There's no accident that Li Biao went into Northeast with 100,000 and come out with 600,000. And that the battle that decided the civil war, the battle of Jinchou is fought with Li Biao's Army. Though, to be fair, some of the general sided with KMT. Just a lot more went with CCP. Since KMT don't need MCG's army, and a good number of MCG's army was the old Beiyang army under Zhang Xue Liang which CKS despises. General 李宗仁 wrote about this before. if you can digg it up online This post has been edited by luhai167: Dec 19 2005, 10:56 PM |

QUOTE (northwestern_student @ Dec 19 2005, 11:06 PM) Zhang Xueliang is son of Zhang Zoulin, a beiyang warlord. I would say he is han, however by that time most manchus have han surnames so it's hard to tell. here are the wiki bio of Zhang xueliang and zhang zoulin. http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%BC%A0%E5%AD%A6%E8%89%AF http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%BC%A0%E4%BD%9C%E9%9C%96 [qoute]It's Lin Biao btw.[/qoute] Thanks for the correction. I make typos a lot. There's good article on about the fourth field army(四野) called 雪白血红. http://67.19.223.123/htmpage/1/171/index.htm This post has been edited by luhai167: Dec 19 2005, 11:54 PM |

(IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumbsdown.gif) well, he was a 3 year-old (2 yr. with western methods) at the time for god's sake. and when he's 5, he's deposed. I doubt he even has memory of his reign, since that's before most kid Remember things.. And with Manchuguo, Japan is running the show... And MCG is destoyed by the soviet red army. That's a good army man, especially just after they defeated the Nazis. |

If u r the Emperor, than u must take charge & raise ur iron fist in the air... What did u think Chairman Mao did? he was no weak man, China was already fuked up before him also...but Chairman Mao was able to keep China from becoming a puppet nation or lose many Autonomous regions & seperatist upriseing states/provinces. Chairman Mao is a historical revolutionary leader, driving out Western pockets of Imperialism in China at the time. Emperor Henry Pu Yi was weak, plain and simple.(period). Like I said before, he's 2 yr old when he become emperor and 5 when he was deposed. What possiblly could he have done??
BTW, the Qing Govn't is virtually at the mercy of Yuan Sikai anyways, and it lived on (sort of) as the beiyang warlord system... |
