QUOTE (Mid-Night_Sun @ Jan 23 2006, 08:48 PM) you are in no danger... the only danger you are in is birds trying to make a nest in your abnormally hairy chest...which btw you like to stroke at night for comfort, because it reminds you of your mom. Is that american hip hop lyrics?(quiet like good rhyme yo ) |

QUOTE (Suijen @ Jan 24 2006, 02:45 AM) I get asked about him three times a day. And more when people realize that I'm Canadian. People love Da Shan too, but they don't harass me about him. Many people tell me, "Berthune is why China loves Canada." I guess we've never done anything good since he helped in the war? |

QUOTE (Hawaii @ Jan 23 2006, 09:42 PM) I agree it must be Bill Clinton because of his AIDS aid to China. I heard or read about a white doctor that they made statue of.. think maybe he was one of the most helping foreigers through the history? Anyone know he was? |

Clinton is very popular, but he's no Norman Bethune. |

QUOTE (Suijen @ Jan 23 2006, 12:45 PM) The Answer is Simple: Norman Bethune. yup " Doctor Bethune finally received international recognition as Chairman Mao Zedong of the People's Republic of China published his essay entitled In Memory of Norman Bethune (original Chinese title : 紀念白求恩), which documented the final months of the doctor's life in China. Mao went ahead and made the essay required reading for the entire Chinese population" he also is the only non-chinese dude with a statue in china and the only non-chinese dude i knew while i was young in china |
