But every salon I went too, they said never to put gel on the roots. This coming from Korean salons. |

He gives a lot of tips on his thread (entitled, "new hairstyles" i think). The thread was started by him. Although if you show that pic , I have the feeling he'd just say its a crappy style from the start.  But, I may be wrong.

That hair style is called "the every asian dude has the same lame spiky hair design"
Now I'm no hair expert here, but that looks like regular gel was used. Just get your hair short enough so that when you apply gel you can push your hair up and hoping it wont fall down. To get that style it'll probably take 5 mins or less. |
