My WebpageA Sam Rainsy Party Commune Council member reported that 39 members of 9 Cambodian families living in Svay Rieng province along the remote border area were threatened and interrogated by a group of armed Vietnamese troops, shortly after they were interviewed by VOA reporter.

I don't think you can play via Media Player since it is in RAM which is a Real Media Player? Haven't read it yet...maybe later.

Well, I can't translate the whole thing but here is a little summary.

Svay Rieng is belong to Cambodia not Kampuchea Krom (south vietnam). However it was connect to Tay Ninh (spell?) which was once belong to Khmer Krom.

39 people of the 9 families were threaten by Viets after their interview with VOA.

The Viets threaten the family living in Svay Rieng to leave their house for they have (viets) claim that it is their land. Whatever they have accomplished, the Viets took everything. Damb, they even claim the land where Khmer bury their death?

"They took our land and claim as their. Tax our people from our own land. The land we use to grow rice, they tax everthing. They tax us too much that we don't have enough money to buy food. We have to sell cow shi! <-- (sorry, my vocab isn't enough) to make living and even that, they giving us hard time."

"The land that we use to bury our death now have been taken by them. They use it to bury their own. They told us that it is their land and where they were once use to bury their own ancestor..."

Well, that is not a suprised. In Kampuchea Krom, that is an everyday life. They tax no matter if you rice plantation is good or bad. If you borrow them, you have to pay double. Before the land of Preah Trapeang were mostly Khmer Krom, now Viets are infested and buying land for cheap. We have no choice, we can't make a living, therefore we have to sell what we have. Most of us can't get education, and even if we get out of school, it is very lightly that we would get a job.

If they need to make road, and our house is in the middle, we're force to move out. With little money in return for the land that they took. Not enough to buy land to build a new house....

Yes, that is an old and current story...yes, they make themselve look good on the outside, but on the inside, it is a different story. Many still denied and refer to this as a lied. O well, until they are the victim, then they will understand. Please do understand why Khmer Krom have so much anger.

That is nothing from the news....only part of it....that just show they eaten their way in. PEACE???? Khmer people are being threaten in their own land!!

If you want to know a little bit history of Svay Rieng of why Viets are there, maybe the link below should help.

Svay Rieng Operation
(April 27-May 2, 1974)

...The division itself, however, now located in the Parrot's Beak salient along the Cambodian border west of Saigon, remained a serious threat to the Tay Ninh-Saigon corridor. That threat had materialized on March 27 when units of the 5th Division attacked and invested the ARVN base at Duc Hue. As April wore on, and Communist forays out of Svay Rieng Province in Cambodia increased, III Corps commander Lieutenant General Pham Quoc Thuan collected twenty South Vietnamese maneuver battalions around the Parrot's Beak, determined to neutralize the North Vietnamese before the onset of the heavy rains of the summer monsoon...

thanks for the translation thay. vietnamese have already experienced foreign domination by the chinese and french. they haven't learned or probably they had. i don't know what else to say about them. khmer people from all walks of life should unite and form a strong resistance force against vietnamese invaders.

Before a resistance is formed, we need to get rid of the primary problem. That problem is hun sen. It will be tough to vote that one-eyed monkey out of office since he has already declared victory over any future election.

Hmmm and I wonder who is securing these victories.

we definitely need to get hun sen and his henchmen out of cambodia. the only way to do it is by force. you can't reason with that one-eyed monkey and his yuon friends. some people say sam rainsy won't make a good leader also so i don't know... i hope the khmer people make the right choice in picking a new leader which i hope would come soon.

Right, hun sen need to be gone and yes, by force. However, before we use force, we must use a plan. There was already an attempt to overthrow hun sen, but the group is too small so they fail and pay the price dearly. If that is the price we have to pay then that is what we are willing to risk.

I think Lok Pu Sam Rainsy is the best we could pick right now from all of our leader....

Who will make sure hun sen will win? I think you don't need an answer on that. You know it, and I know. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That is the sign of unification, we need to unite from whatever origin we are. There should not be any more "Kampuchea Krom". We are the owner of the land, we shall not be the minority.

Unite and fight for what is our.
Thay
