QUOTE A woman who jumped in front of an oncoming train at JR Shinjuku Station in downtown Tokyo on Monday morning survived, police said. At around 8:35 a.m., the woman jumped in front of a rapid service train on the Chuo Line bound for Tokyo from Takao that was arriving at Shinjuku Station, local police said. She was hit by the train, but survived. Her injuries are not life-threatening. East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) suspended services on the Chuo Line for 35 minutes, A total of 24 trains were delayed, inconveniencing about 45,000 passengers, JR East officials said. woah O_o |

Trains slow down and come to an eventual stop when they arrive at stations. She was probably hit by a train that was already coming to a stop.
