pollution...... it causes global warming and thus raises sea levels, thus it will eventually engulf all the islands of Japan. Hmmm, I'd be very worried about their population problem, especially with their elderly population growing very fast with fewer young people in the workforce. They may have to resort to more immigration, which they sure as hell wouldn't be happy about but I think may have to do eventually.
I'd also be extremely worried about earthquakes, what if a major earthquake like the one that hit Kobe 11 years ago hit another major Japanese city? |

It just means old people retire later, which is good because old people have more experience.

Earthquakes I agree can be horrible if it hit a major city.

Not just that...Take a look at how long does it take for a person to get from one part of town to another...Very hectic and hard sometimes if the streets and subways are busy...

But then, as you get away from Tokyo and Kyoto and all those big towns, you sometimes come across rural, unpopulated areas...I think it's a good idea to spead the houses so that people won't be so scunched up but the bad thing about it is that Japan will lose a lot of nature because of this...

Hmm.. yeah. So I guess they should just stay the way they are. The crowded city, and quiet life in the rural area.

Yeah probably so...But they won't be like us in the US...I'm guessing that the US pollute more than Japan...Just take a look at their recycling system! It's going pretty good...Like us US citizens, we just throw our stuff away like we didn't care or so...Well, most of us..

I'm from Australia. We have proper recycling bins here (well in my area). But still.. lazy people just don't bother using it.

Well...to say, for the place where I live(Mid West America) our recycling system STINKS! If you want to recycle, then yay for you! The truck comes once a month and you have to pay a fee for them to come and pick your items up... (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_neutral.gif) So nobody recycles here...Mostly liter...

That's crap.. Our recycling bin truck comes once in a fortnight, and it's free.

Now that I'm thinking...Where's the recycling truck? It's been 4 months since I last saw a recycle bin or a truck in the road... (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif) 2

Man, we are so good at going off topic, now talking about recycling and trash collection. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif) 2 (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif) 2
I was surprised to hear that 70% of Japan's land is actually mostly uninhabitable due to it mostly being mountanious. Wow!! Japan is quite small already as it is. With its population issue, do you think we'll be seeing more Japanese going to live in other countries or Japan slowly but surely opening up to immigration more? |
