IF Hun Sen can be a celebrety...how about Sam Rainsy?...He is famous in criticism and do nothing ..Anyway, Our Former King Norodom Sihanouk is the most famous Khmer celebrety in the world, I guess.

It's funny how some people like to critize those that don't have talent cuzz they don't write their own songs... Mayb you should open up your eyez and look at majority of singers in the US Entertainment business that actually write the own songs... Only a few do and most of them get song written for them... I think you should start reading the inside of the CD case more... A lot of Artist don't write their songs most of them just sing it for the writers... So don't b quicc to judge them cuzz they don't write their songs... If you were so talented why don't you do your own Karaoke album for the world to see... Sorry if I offended anyone but I'm just tired of seeing our own communities looking down on one another... We can do better that... Just be happy that we got Khmer artists/actor(ess) performing for our entertainment...

Seem like some of us have something against Chinese... I wonder why...

Chanlekkana is not a singer....she's not even really an actress....her job is to look pretty in karaoke videos.

regardless of whether or not ya'll care for the way nop bayarith looks like.....you can't deny that he has a wonderful voice.....and by the way....nearly ninety percent of the cambodian population is mixed with chinese/indian/vietnamese...menikani....you're not pure yourself so shut up.

the problem with us khmer is that if your skin is not dark or if your eye look like geicko's eye. you are not khmer. this must change. if you are born in cambodia. you are khmer. agree? it s hard to find pure khmer today.

Duch Sophea of course! She's absolutely drop dead gorgeous and has a little bit of a fiesty attitude which makes her unique. Suvanant Kongying (Thai actress) can't top Duch Sophea .

My favorite male singer would have to be Nop Bayarith. He's got a great voice and he doesn't scream like a choked chicken like Preab Savat.

should it matter at all if you're ethnic chinese? he sings in cambodian, his name is cambodian, yet he's still chinese? I think if you're cultured in cambodian to the full where you forget your langauge and have no ties to your country of origin, you are no longer considered what your country of origin is . .. culture is more important than blood, and it's unfair to say he's not cambodian, even if he does look chinese.

My vote is preap sovat!!! he got me into khmai music at it's all time lowest and lamest and made cambodian songs listenable for me. so he definately needs a spot ..

exactly, which goes back to my statement again - culture is more important than race or bloodline .. i assure you this, finding a pure ethnic khmer is almost impossible -- cause almost everyone who's khmai that i know has some or little of chinese blood or others -- that alone makes them unpure khmer .. so get it straight, if you're born and cultured in cambodian culture, you are khmai.
