List movies you've recently watched and leave a little review about it.

Pour example...I watched

"grave of the fireflies" yesterday(watched it 3 years back, but this time it depressed me way more icon_sad.gif )

Great movie, the film follows the struggles of two orphans during the American firebombing at the end of World War II...btw its based on reality(autobiographical novel by Akiyuki Nosaka).

The Promise

A movie reccomended to me by a friend. A Chinese fantasy story dealing with determinism. Follows the intertwined stories of a Duke, a general, a princess, and a slave. It's one of the best recent Chinese movies I've watched so far along with A World Without Thieves. I have no clue why it was received a badly in China.

It's not based on reality. embarassedlaugh.gif

Pink Panther

I have never watched a bad Steve Martin movie and my experience with this guy goes all the back to Parenthood which had Keanu Reeves in it. It has alot of overused comedy but it never ceased to make me laugh. Follows the exploits of a particularly bad unknown cop to recover the stolen Pink Panter. I don't like Beyonce Knowles.

Four Brothers.

It turned out to be better then I thought it was going to be. Mark Wahlberg looked decidedly ugly compared to usual, but Tyrese was hot love2.gif . Simple, it's obviously not got an epic storyline, it's all detroit and guns and $hit.....but it plays more on the comedic side and "family" and stuff. There's a very sad bit towards the end that I balled my eyes out at. Eh...it's so-so.

The Promise was such a $hitty movie. how was the main guy a slave all that time when he has all those frigging powers? the whole plot and movie sucked. and the special effects looked so fake.

Siworae a.k.a. Il Mare

It was a great movie. Really slow at the beginning but picks up pretty quick. It's going to be remade into The Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

Watched Paradise Now the other day. Really good movie, for those who are already pretty much aware of the disparity between the lives of israelis and palestinians, the movie helps to re-buff any existing feelings you may have about the situation in the mid-east... though I think it would have more of an effect at some scenes if they had a score to the movie. But even without any of that it was just a good movie. Shows that its pure on its script and plot, and doesn't need any type of influences to make it more dramatic or anything...well you won't waste your time watching it,so run to your nearest video rental place and rent it now LOL

Good film all around especially with the acting. If you actually have an attention span, sit down and watch this one. Good soundtrack and ending. The main actor in it looked so stylish in all those dress shirts and ties it almost makes me wanna adopt that look.

Ame Agaru (After the Rain)

A nice Jidai-Geki film from 1999. Imagine a highly skilled samurai able to best most swordsman, yet possessing a level of open kindness and sensitivity that only infuriates more prideful men. It was the late great Akira Kurosawa's last script he wrote before he died in 1998. They made it into a film. I thought it was a good simple story....it makes you feel good after watching it. biggthumpup.gif
