Everytime I click on a pic and click "save picture as" it'll only let me save it as a bitmap file.
How do I change it? |

QUOTE(charlee @ Apr 26 2006, 12:24 PM) Everytime I click on a pic and click "save picture as" it'll only let me save it as a bitmap file. How do I change it? You see that Save Type As Menu when you click to save as? Okay well when you click that a menu drops and you can select the type of file you save your picture as. Anyways just right click the file and go into properties and change it to the desired type of file. |

It only has the option for me to change the program. |

Well the image was originally set as a bitmap 1 or you deleted some filetype detectors in your system files.
When you go into the properties of the file you can select from an array of types.. If you dont have this then the options have been deleted or tampered with in your system files. |

Well there's only 1 way I know of fixing this and it is having to run 'RegEdit' and you're messing with registry stuff. I know there's another way . Go to www.AskMarvin.ca and ask them they respond imediately |

Whichever folder you saved the image into you can click the properties of the folder. In the File Types tab you can see an array of available files the folder can read. Go to new and see what additional files you can add to that list if jpeg and others arent already available. Im going out so I'll be back later.. |

Usually, if you are saving it as a bitmap then you're probably already viewing the jpg in the browser. If that's the case then you can just file save it or go back and save from the link.
