Ever tried making wax at home?

I just tried to make wax at home. Not sure how it will turn out . I saw a lot of girls make their own wax when I was in Pakistan, so I wanted to try it too. Not sure if the result will be good or not, since the wax is really hot. Anyone else ever tried this?

That was my friend's recipe. It does taste like that, since we made it out of sugar, water and lemon juice, just boiled it so that it would be kind of thick.
