i found this article on google when i tried to look for pics of 西門町. articles like this one are used by the ccp to misguide mainland readers to believe that ti is equivalent to being pro-japanese. notice the generalization made in the last paragraph and how the author directly implicates the ruling party. it must be awesome to grow up reading such bs from the ccp; to most mainlanders, the world would be so simple, there would always be clear line between good and evil...so lucky.

10月25日是台灣光復60周年紀念日。從1895年清政府簽訂《馬關條約》把台灣割讓給日本，到1945年日本投降、台灣光復，日本佔據台灣整整50年。時至今日，在台灣還有不少日本的痕跡。

■地名、習慣的影響

最直接的影響就是地名。台北年輕人最愛去的西門町，一聽就知道其名字源於日本﹔高雄原名“打狗”，日據時代才改為現名。類似的還有原名“阿猴”的屏東等，都沿用到今天。

在台灣日常用語中，也有不少日本的蛛絲馬跡。比如，台灣人把衛生間稱為“化妝室”，幼兒園稱為“幼稚園”，在日語中都能找到相同的漢字稱呼。台灣賣二手車的提法也很有趣，很舊的車叫“太古車”，稍新的叫“中古車”，這與日語很相似。此外，台灣人還喜歡用“歐巴桑”或“多桑”稱呼老人。

再就是飲食。台灣人喜歡的許多食品，都是日本風味。生魚片以及各種各樣的便當，有日本印記﹔超級市場裡賣的方便食品“關東煮”，更是日本小吃。

對習慣的影響則更大一些。在台灣，最熱的體育運動是棒球。台灣的棒球史，應該追溯到日據時代。1906年3月，島內出現了第一支正式棒球隊，就是由一個日本人主導成立的。目前島內有6支職業棒球隊，其著名球員的影響力絲毫不亞於影視明星。在鼎盛時期，台灣人中號稱有上千萬棒球迷，遇到熱門比賽更是萬人空巷。毋庸諱言，台灣人對棒球的熱愛也是受到日本的影響。

洗溫泉澡，是台灣人喜歡的休閑方式，被稱為“泡湯”。這與台灣的天然環境有關，但最早也是由日本人開發出來的，至今一些老資格的溫泉，還利用當年有某某總督泡過等內容招攬生意。據介紹，1945年日本投降后，台灣的泡湯業由盛到衰，二三十年前才又重新興起。不少台灣朋友告訴筆者，日本也影響了他們的一些生活習慣，比如常洗澡等，但也改變了很多原住民的習俗。泰雅人的文面，就是在日據時代被強制禁止的。

當然，日本文化對台灣的影響遠遠不及有著幾千年歷史的中華文明。走在台灣街頭巷尾，最常聽到的是國語和閩南話，常見到的是關公像、媽祖廟，考生臨考要去給孔聖人上香。即使是日據時期，金門有的人家仍採用中國傳統的紅木門。

■50年給台灣帶來了什麼

50年的日本殖民統治到底給台灣帶來了什麼，現在似乎有了爭議。尤其是最近幾年，台灣一些學校辦校慶，特別拿出日據時代的資料做文物展示，似乎証明日本為台灣做了不少貢獻。

從表面上看，日本人入台后開辦了師范學校、醫科學校等，但他們的目的是企圖通過教育對台灣人“洗腦”。尤其是在抗日戰爭全面爆發后，日本對台灣實行了所謂的“皇民化教育”，在全台成立“皇民奉公會”，600萬民眾都是其會員﹔要求台灣人敬拜日本的“天照大神”，連小學生也不能幸免，每月1、8、15日都要舉行全校性參拜。1910年，日語在台灣被稱為“國語”，學生在學校裡都被迫講日語﹔1937年，中文報紙被全面禁止。他們還鼓勵台灣人改成日本名字，像李登輝曾改名“岩裡政男”。

還有一種說法認為，是日本開創了台灣的工業時代。當時，台灣完成了穿越全島的鐵路等交通基礎建設，制糖、制鋁等工業也發展起來。不過，所有這些建設都是為當年日本所需而規劃的。台灣日本綜合研究所所長許介鱗曾撰文指出，日本在“九一八”事變后，有意把台灣作為基地，以便為日本南進輸送物資。也就是說，台灣經濟發展的獲利者絕大部分都是日本人。許介鱗曾表示：“如果日本沒有戰敗，台灣的資本家恐怕也沒有出頭的機會。日本留給台灣的工業化遺產，是戰敗國不得已的放棄，不是善意的贈送。”更不用說日本當年對台灣人的歧視和屠殺，據不完全統計，兒玉源太郎擔任“台灣總督”時，被殺害的台灣人高達1萬人以上。

■喜歡日本的三類人

目前在島內，喜歡日本的大概有三類人，一是極少數懷有“日本情結”的老牌“台獨”分子。李登輝就是這部分人的代表，曾公開宣稱“釣魚島屬於日本”。對此，不少台灣朋友感嘆：“別理他，他就是個日本人。”在台灣，還有一個“51俱樂部”，成員聚會時基本用日語交談，俱樂部名字包含“夢想台灣能成為美國第51州”之意。

二是喜歡日本流行文化的“哈日族”。這些年輕人沉湎於日劇和游戲，喜歡日本的帥哥和美女。

第三類就是台當局官員。目前日本對島內的影響也是更多地體現在這方面。當局領導人幻想利用日本抗衡大陸，在美日的庇護下求得台灣的“安全”，推動“台獨”。島內一本雜志刊登了一篇名為《吃定台灣》的文章，認為“日本對台灣，其實早已是一種實質上的‘主子———奴隸關系’。日本人在現在這個時代，已不太敢炫耀當年的甲午戰爭，但我們卻有‘副總統’（指呂秀蓮）公然向日本致函說‘感謝甲午戰爭’﹔日本人對釣魚島的主權問題以前還不敢太過放肆，但李登輝早就公然宣布‘釣魚島是日本的’。奴隸會講連主子都不太敢講的話，其微妙的道理就在這裡。”這篇文章罵得真是透徹。

Sadly there are still lots of 哈日族 in Mainland even today, while for Taiwan I expect to have more of those since Japanese had more time for brainwashing and have met relatively less resistance. And of course Japanese did many 'good' things for Taiwan in building up infrastructure and industry, after all they needed those for their 'great dream'.

i would rather bash on the ccp than be like most mainlanders who selfishly disregard the social problems they hear about as "not their problem" and have a "what can i do?" attitude. change within a society doesn't just come about by you sitting there hoping the government will change.

i would beg to defer. i am fully aware of how the ccp has benefited mainland china. honestly, i think the ccp takeover of mainland china was necessary to finally unify the mainland, raise education standards and prepare china for eventual democracy. however, by then, the ccp will cease to exist. the question is whether or not the ccp will let that happen and if such a transition would be a peaceful one. i admit, i may be somewhat biased against the ccp considering the environment in which i grew up in but being anti-ccp should not be reflective of my attitude and perception towards mainlanders. i have plenty of mainland friends who despise the dpp for their ti plans, there are also those who support the kmt and wish they would return to the mainland, and there are also those who don't care at all. but how does any of that affect my friendship with them? about half of my friends are mainlanders, which includes my girlfriend who is from 西安, not that far from you.
