I heard Springfield pistols, even their compacts, are of pretty good quality too.

I miss my LMT M-4gery. When I get home imma have to run a couple of hundred rounds at the range. btw I fawking hate the M249 S.A.W. Its a b!tch to clean specially if your firing blanks. When I get home imma have to run a couple of hundred rounds at the range. When you have an AR in every shape and color, wood just makes sense. A couple of my ARs... ![]() Newest addition, well kinda. I had this old Mosin sitting around which I was using as a storage rack lol because I had way too many guns and didn't have anywhere else to put them. ![]() I modified it a bit as shown here.... ![]() Ya know, the funny thing about that Mosin is that when I was using it as a rack, I had dozens of people in the room it was placed in including law enforcement officers who are trained to spot things out of the ordinary, but not a single person noticed it sitting there. |

I want a non-brand name but decent 12 gauge shotgun for under $150
I'm not a gun person. I plan on using it once in a while say to shot rabbits or quail. Most of the time it will be sitting in my closet for self defense if some one ever tries on breaking and entering. Any suggestions? |

Protecting your house is pretty serious stuff.
Remington or Winchester is pretty reliable. This post has been edited by 1800geico: Oct 17 2011, 12:17 AM |

12 gauge is pretty damn big for quail and rabbit bro. Really? I'm not a gun person, but we've been out hunting in Mexico for duck, rabbit, and quail with 12 gauge rifles. We had a 16 gauge too but we stopped taking that one and just used two 12 gauge shotguns. We have a simple way to get rabbit. When it gets dark, have two guys ride in the back of a 4x4, one with a beam spot light and the other with a shot gun. Shine the light slowly around until you get a rabbit(I thing the eyes reflect light). the other guy shots. Some one jumps out to fetch the rabbit. As simple as that and we get 5~8 a night. Not much sport in this method but the rabbits fried-up and served with salsa and tortillas are excellent. |

If it works it works usually people where im from reserve the 12 gauge for big game. 20 gauge is the norm when hunting smaller game. smaller pellets less damage to the meat IMO. |

What do you guys use a 12 gauge for? 20 gauge! that sounds small but I know the smallest is a 410. I guess out here in CA, everything is overkill! Sidenote: my brother-in-law just bought a Glock 9mm pistal. The thing is damn cool! |

btw I fawking hate the M249 S.A.W. Its a b!tch to clean specially if your firing blanks. I prefer your SAW compared to our variant. I think its easier to clean than ARs because you can actually get your hand inside it. For us its a section weapon so everyone helps to clean it. |

Just bought myself a Mossberg 500 series 12 guage. It comes with two barrels: a tactical 18" and a hunting 28" with improved choke. I also picked up an extra 24" rifled barrel and scope combo.
The whole thing ended up being $500+ But I carefully researched the matter and got exactly what I wanted. At home, the 18" barrel stays on and I plan on using #1 buckshots for ammo or 00buckshots for better stopping power. The rifled barrel is for sabot slugs in case I go deer hunting and the 28" is cor normal shotgun use. Happy camper am I. |

There's not going to be much of a rabbit left if you get it with that.

The short barrel basically makes the weapon into a sawed off shotgun. It's called the Tactical Persuader. |
