Are u blind.....

This thread is to discuss Malaysia's rail systems.....post news about it and tell opinions about Malaysia's rail systems. Since government wants the rakyat to change their 'gaya hidup' and use public transport, it's good if we could talk about the public transports especially the rail systems.

Pictures are also welcomed. Post the pictures of ur favourite rail system in Malaysia.

The LRT and monorail should be further extended to deeper suburb and new rails are also needed.

^I am also kinda perplexed that KL has many rail system, I mean, I frankly believe that STAR LRT and Putra LRT should use same system. But it does not matter as long they can be properly maintained.

Didn't Rapid KL announced earlier this year that LRT line would be extended to Subang Jaya?

I also recalled that MTrans is trying to extend the monorail until Mid Valley.

Furthermore, KTM is extending its commuter lines to Baru caves,

why not integrate it.....use less resources. Also, about the tickets...each and every type of train use different sort of ticket

in singapore, we have only one operator of the MRT....and we use the tap n go card which you can top up anytime which can be used for buses as well.....the LRT only are built at the residential areas which compliments the MRT.

KL has the Touch n' Go, a cash card used to pay for tolls, parking. This card can be used on all KL rail systems. This is easy to use, I use it frequently when travelling via KTM and Putra LRT, I only need to hold my wallet over the Touch n' Go reader and no more searching for coins before going to KTM... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggthumpup.gif)

Every Malaysian has one coz it comes with the MyKad.

At Bank Bumi, LRT stations, toll booths(certain Touch n' Go toll booths only) and now,at shop outlets that display the touch n' go logo like 7/11.

really thanx..i'll keep ur offer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif)

I am also intrigued to ride the MRT and the new Sentosa monorail. Living in KL with its rail sytems and in OZ with its trams has made me a fan of rail systems.

^When I was in Melbourne, I also say the Yarra Tram inspectors fine a girl and a China student. $150 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif) . The ticketing system is very convenient but may also allow people to cheat. This kind of system will work in Asia.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif) ....Asians like to take advantage of such a concept.

What I like about the ticketing system in OZ is that once u validate the ticket, the ticket could still be used for 2 hours. I wish this could be done in KL. Is it like that in S'pore rico?

^Hehe...I believe the rail system operators in KL also only care about our money.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_confused.gif) . But at least MRT stations are disable friendly and well developed already.

In KL, all the Putra LRT stations are disable friendly, but only certain STAR LRT and KL monorail stations are disable friendly with lifts and escalators. For example, the STAR LRT Bandaraya station is damn inconvenient, so many stairs, I dun think old people can climb up the station.

Since many people complain that so railway systems in KL are located far from each other, RapidKL and KL Monorail have built sheltered walkways between certain Putra LRT and KL monorail station. For example, people who stop at Dang Wangi station can follow the sheltered walkways to a KL monorail station(forgot the station's name). So tourist and workers no need to go to KL Sentral by Putra just to take the monorail.

BTW, earlier MyKad dun have Touch n' Go feature, make sure there's a Touch n' Go logo printed behind ur MyKad. Even if ur MyKad dun have this feature, u can buy a TnG card in KL anyway.
