Cantonese food is better.

Not to mention most of the night market snack food are really from the Mainland.

I recommend just going to Mickey D's when in Taiwan.

no sure how to spell it. but cantonese call it "jien oau ahh". something along the lines of grilled osyter. yummy. i guess "oau ahh" is taiwanese for oyster?

icon_wink.gif seems no1 can name any taiwanese cuisine that is popular... i didnt find anything original either

When i was walking amoung the crowded cities in tw, i noticed sausages were popular (called tw style sausages).... lots of people were walking and munching on sausages everywhere you go... kinda unsanitary... Also beef scallion egg rolls were popular and seen on the streets.

I like the "pearl milk tea/bubble tea" originated in (zhong guo/china) became highly popular in HK & TW, ... RBT's "green apple tea" & "mint jasmine lime green tea" are my favs.

In the eatery, i saw lots of people eating japanese styled salty seafood soup, lots of scallion pancakes, scallop rice porridge/congee.

hmmm lets see... what else... nope... thats about it ...

tw has some interesting confectionery items, but those mostly came from the SHANG HAInese KMT that migrated/ran off during wwII.... though i heard most have returned back to zhong guo & SH
