QUOTE Sunday, February 08, 2004 The Chronicles of Hinirang This is an alternate history of the world of Hinirang as it is part of the Baylans mythos. There can be other alternate histories in the rich, diverse universe of Hinirang as conceptualized by its creators, and they do not necessarily serve as canon to each other. The Era of the Primordials The universe sprang from the seed of the Cosmic Balete Tree, planted by Bathala Maykapal, as He is known to the Tagalogs. It was tilled by his brother, Dumagat Amanikable. Bathala Maykapal was ruler of sky, and took the form of an Eagle. Dumagat Amanikable was ruler of water, and took the form of a Fish. There were two other primordials. The terrestrial Bakunawa, who had the form of a Serpent, and the crab Gaki Kayumang. Such was the order of the universe for untold aeons, until such time that the two primordial beings, Bathala Maykapal and Dumagat Amanikable, decided to divide it. The Era of the Gods (Approx. to be the Cretaceous Period, 140 to 70 Million years ago, in modern geological time) By casting of lots, or some other deciding process unkown to man, the universe was divided. It had three divisions. The Sky. The Earth. And the Waters below it. The skyworld Langit-Non became the home of Bathala. Dumagat ruled over Tubignon. Lupan-on was neutral ground. Langit-Non became populated by Bathala’s children. With Dumagat’s permission, Bathala lifted from the depths of Tubignon four islands, which became the center of life in Lupan-On. This was where the Gods, Bathala’s children, were to dwell from time to time. These islands were what were called Sierra Madre, Masbate, Eastern Panay and Southwestern Negros, home of the dragon Kung Lung, by modern man. Wild animals roamed this land. Creatures of titan-like size and power, they serve none but the call of chaos. Bathala and the Gods of the Skyworld loved Lupan-On. From the Cosmic Balete Tree, the winds, the waters, the earth, He called forth their essence and gave them form. They were called the Diwatas, and they looked like silvery fetus with ornate wings, and sparkled like stars, their bodies inscribed with the song that Bathala sung to call them. The Diwatas were instructed to clear the Islands of the creatures of Chaos. Bathala gave them supreme power over these creatures. With cosmic powers granted to them, the Diwatas ended the Era of the Gods (Cretaceous) with mass extinction of all kinds of gigantic creatures. This became known as the Cleansing. The Era of the Gods Universe The Era of the Gods Map Compare with Geological Time Chart The Era of the Diwatas (Approx. to be the Oligocene Epoch, 38 to 23 Million years ago, in modern geological time) The Diwatas drove some of the creatures of chaos to caves and tunnels beneath the earth, and a realm has been created between Lupan-On and Tubig-Non. That realm became known as Idalmunon. When they were done, they returned to Bathala, who gave them a home. A realm was created between Lupan-On and Langit-Non. Kahanginan, realm of the winds, was created. The Diwatas were scattered across the universe. Most of them lived in Kahanginan, and some stayed in Lupan-On. For those who stayed, they called forth from beneath the seas their own islands. Beside the Sierra Madre rose what is called by modern man as the Cordilleras. Samar also rose, and Eastern Mindanao. This had the islands bore the form of an arc, a crescent moon. The Cordilleras and Eastern Mindanao were ruled by the Diwatas and were kept free of chaotic forces. Samar, however, fell into the control of the creatures of chaos rising from Idalmunon. It was not recovered since. The Era of the Diwatas Universe The Era of the Diwatas Map The Era of the Anitos (Approx. to be the Miocene Era, 23 to 5 Million years ago, in modern geological time) The islands of Lupan-On were free of the creatures of Chaos, except for a few. Bathala, so much wanting to build in Lupan-On kingdoms and empires that will serve Him and His children, He created the Anitos, a wise spiritual race that had free will, unlike the Diwatas. Powerful kingdoms of Mindoro and Panay rose from the depths. From the West came Palawan. Bicol, the land of loved by Mayon, Bathala’s son, was also born. Ancient tribal Filipinos believed that the Anitos were their ancestors. These spiritual beings reproduced and became many. Ibabaw-Non was created and became the home of the Anitos. The Era of the Anitos Universe The Era of the Anitos Map The Era of the Katao and the Danag (Approx. to be the Pliocene Era, 5 Million years ago, in modern geological time) It was during this era that some of the Anitos decided to take form. At the center of Lupan-On was a large bamboo tree called Kahilwayan. The Anitos entered Kahilwayan and embodied its seeds. It was through this that they gained form, and became the first Kataos, the race of men. The creation of the Anitos, and the eventual evolution of the Kataos, outraged Dumagat, who kept to his word that Lupan-On was to be kept neutral ground. Among the Anitos, the pure spirit, Dumagat tempted them. He enticed them with the taste of Katao blood. He corrupted them. Those that did became the vampiric race of the Danags, who had unquenchable thirst. The Danags grew in number, and they preyed on the helpless Kataos (who lost their Anito power when they gained mortal bodies.) The Anitos defended the Katao in a great war. The resulting war tore the islands. What became known as the Philippine Fault was cut across these lands. The Danags retreated to the underworld Idalmunon, and eventually held power and authority over the Creatures of Chaos. After the great war between the Anitos and the Danags, the land was covered with fire. Bataan, Southern Tagalog, Bicol, Negros, Eastern Visayas and Zamboanga had burning pillars that extended to the sky. There were basins that sunk to the depths. Cagayan Valley, Iloilo, Agusan and Cotabato. The Katao, powerless against forces of nature, was starting to learn his power. Some of the Anitos stayed among the Katao to teach him magick and the laws of creation. Those who understood the language of the Anitos were called the Baylans, and they were the wise leaders of the people. The Gods also communicated with them. During this time, there was harmony with Langit-Non. It was a peaceful time. It was during the end of this period that Dumagat Amanikable, brother of Bathala, took human form and visited the Katao realm. He fell in love with a mortal woman, who loved him back without knowing his deific status. It was doomed to fail, and ended with a decree from Bathala that no God is to fall in love with a mortal, unless he gives up his immortality. This ended up with deep resentment and anger from Dumagat. At the end of this Epoch, he called the Seas and froze them. The Era of Hinirang and the Bronze Katao (Approx. to be the Pleistocene Era, in 1.5 million years ago, in modern geological time) The sun stopped burning, and the land was covered in ice. Tubignon fell. The lands expanded. It was during this time, when Dumagat and his underworld realms were silent, that the Katao became powerful. Hinirang became the name of this powerful kingdom of the Kataos, who started to bear skins of bronze, symbolizing their growing status to become powerful beings. The Epoch ended with the sudden cry heard from the four corners of the universe. Dumagat called forth all the creatures of Chaos and waged war against the Skyworld. The Danags possessed the Bronze Kataos of Hinirang and corrupted them. Vices of all kinds were rampant in the once pure and innocent land of Hinirang. The war ended with the destruction of Langit-Non, the sinking of the kingdom of Ancient Hinirang, and the death of Bathala. Remains of Hinirang were lost, and Lupan-On became almost inaccessible to the other realms of Langit-Non, Ibabawnon, Kahanginan, Idalmunon and Tubig-Non. The race of the Kataos also forgot their history and divine origin. Only a handful remembered. They were the Baylans, the priest-kings of their tribes. The barren islands of Hinirang were eventually populated slowly by Katao: the race of the Aeta (25,000 BC), the Indonesians (3000 BC), and the Malay (200 BC). Only time will tell when the Katao will remember his Hinirang heritage again, and awaken his magickal destiny. Taken from dood's blog: http://blog.dynatica.com/2004/02/chronicle...angthis-is.html |

QUOTE (Cevilgenius @ May 31 2004, 09:24 PM) Dalawapo... other than how he 'talks' do you have anything to back up your assumption? -Norm oaky... *AHEM* Cracks knuckles.. well. honestly it is to early for me to be 100% sure. but based on the following evidence, i have come to the conclusion that it is indeed, Bishojou: 1. i was first supscious by his screename "Shakti" it is just the same as "Shakta" some religious cult bishojou was talking about in the Khmer forum http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7630 2. this quote of Shakti QUOTE That type of ancestral worship is also found in other countries and also we have second burial a custom found in some native americans, nagas, okinawans, austronesians, viets etch.... mirrors exactly a past post of bishjou as i recall him making said statement before. 3. "Austric pride"? come on now..... Anyhow, i am just gonns sit back and observe our new shakti friend's every movement and collect further evidence for my bold accusations! well i have to go call my granny and tell him happy memorial day finally..... bye bye shakit.
