Apart from aggressively promoting the event at F1 road shows in Indonesia, Artika and beauties Nadia Mulia and Novia Isabeth, who came in second and third in the 2004 national pageant, would be attending the Malaysian F1 race in March. “The Indonesian beauties would be catching the race at the SIC corporate suite and we are offering racing fans the opportunity to join them at the suite and enjoy the race,” says SIC General Manager Ahmad Mustafa. “The corporate suite passes are already on sale at RM9,500 each for a full three-day attendance and guests can enjoy the race in air-conditioned suites while dining throughout the entire day,” said Ahmad, adding that the beauty queens were engaged by Jakarta-based Lily Tours, which is the circuit’s leading ticket agent for Indonesia. SIC has 18 corporate suites housed at the Main Grandstand area and they are usually offered for purchase to corporate companies during the event; providing a unique opportunity for the companies to entertain their clients and partners while enjoying the F1 race. Malaysia will host Round 2 of the 19-round 2005 Formula One World Championship from 18 to 20 March. The season opens with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 6 before proceeding to Sepang and 17 other circuits around the world. Commenting her appointment as the F1 Ambassador, Artika said that she was overwhelmed and honoured to be part of the glamorous and prestigious F1 world and that she would do her best to promote the event. “F1 is very special to so many people around the world including Indonesia. To be the F1 Ambassador for Indonesia is very special for me. I am very proud to be the F1 Ambassador,” said Artika, adding that she was looking forward to catch the F1 race in Sepang. SIC recorded 3,120 ticket sales originating from the Indonesia market for the 2004 race. “We are hoping to double that figures this year,” said Ahmad, adding that the key markets for Indonesia included Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and Bali.
