Can someone who lives in Indonesia please explain something to me? I find it somewhat strange that many of these Indonesian women are all mixed with Caucasian features. I understand that Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch decades ago but are the most famous celebrities all mixed? If you were to take the top 20 most famous celebrities (male/female) in Indonesia, would they primarily consist of mixed people? Some of these women could easily pass for Asian/Caucasian but some look Indonesian/Chinese. I'm not racist against Caucasian, I am just really curious about my people. I know many Japanese worship North American culture.

I think its just the simple fact that they are attractive, these women are attractive so they get famous, i mean if you can get a pure indonesian who looks nice in their own way then thats fine also.

I mean dina olivia is extremely sexy i think (dont know if she is mixed or not but doesnt matter) also i think dian sastro is (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/love2.gif) , is she mixed, i dont care really. I think its simply because these mixed women are attractive that gets them noticed, not because they are half caucasian and that everything *white* is cool such as the sentence below seems to suggest.

Hi Sido,

She a friend of mine called Wati, and an ordinairy Girl from Jateng, she does not know what make-up is, she will do anything to help, is very clever and has that special proud but nice and helpfull attitude one only finds in Central Java.

What is attractive or not is a very personal thing, it is easy to find one of those "bintang" attractive, but when you go wandering through Java you see many good looking girls, working in shops factories etc. (Hello Mister (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/love2.gif) ) BTW I am not very good in TV watching so I don't know about all those "artists" most of them are a sort of pretty, but none of them knows what acting is, that bores me to dead. Apalagi all those iklan.

Not all Indonesian celebrities are mixed. I think it's balance between the mixes and the pure ones. And not all mix people can be the most favorite one in here. People still adore pure Indonesian actress. For example: Dian Sastro is a pure Indonesian and the survey from one magazine revealed that she’s the top in every people minds.

I don't know what is so funny abt. Indonesian Iklan most of them bore me to hell. It is he way they promote things on TV with lots of lies. Like little children can become clever when their Mami give them powdermilk, it seems that it goes together with all kind of added chemicals straight to the brains. Those workers drinking Exra-Joss to gain power. Some iklan are repeated three times so the "message" is nailed in one's memory. The most promoted products are Shampoo and O.S.K. (obat sakit kepala) The latter I can understand while watching TV. The Bangsa Indonesia seems to be heavily threated by ketombe (daindruff) siapa takut ? My advise try a white shirt.

Maybe on this forum there is someone who wants to get very rich within one year. Here is my "golden tip" develop a shampoo that fights daindruff and drives away your headache by just washing your hair, will be the commercial succes of the 21st century

well.. I need make up to make me look older..... coz I looks 10 years younger than my age....... but if I use it I look like clown, thats why I go to office "clean face"....
