QUOTE(Mid-Night_Sun @ Oct 6 2006, 11:34 PM) you know, im taking calculus at this other place out side of school. it still follows Ontario curriculum or w/e and is registered to give credits, but i heard UofT only accepts them if its from the school. is this true? You should speak with the admissions office of the office of the registrar at UofT. The school you are taking calculus at must be an accredited school. Doesn't matter whether it is an Ontario school or not, there are equivalencies, but whether the university will accept it or not, you should consult with UofT. |

QUOTE(ham_let @ Sep 30 2006, 09:42 PM) ^people keep telling me that the only good thing about UofT is that it's close to home. all canadian schools are basically the same. anyways, here's what i put in the RT thread: lol. i came waaay late so i could only see one presentation. carleton. but yea, i also went to the US college fair, picked up a few things... university of hawai'i thengot books from the regular universities everyone goes to... UofT, waterloo, guelph, york, queen's, western, etc etc... and i got some OCAD $hit just incase i all of a sudden decide to go there. LOOOOOOOL. Alright, so who's going? I'm hitting up OCAD and Carleton f'sho. Maybe York, and ECIAD and Concordia if they're there. When is college fair? I think I need to look at a few colleges too, but my parents think college is a horible word. Lol. |

QUOTE(WarEngineer @ Sep 13 2007, 01:36 AM) LOL hammy, get real get in UofT Could you be any more typical? I don't want to be another Asian clone that is born just to one day attend UofT, Waterloo or McGill. Even if I get rejected by all the design schools I apply to, I'm stil going to some smaller university to study linguistics (lol I'm sure you know what this entails... your mom being a prof and all) or Int'l Business. |

I didn't go last year even though a lot of my buddies went because I was aiming for college(Humber College to be exact).
I am definitely going to apply for UofT or York once I'm done my current program, I'd like to be another typical asian clone.. |

Do you just repeat what your parents dish out to you? Honestly. Since when did every Asian want to do something as stupid as Life Sciences? I would be such a crappy doctor. And no one said I was going to become some linguistic reasearcher. It's my backup plan. It'd still be way more fun than being like... a dermatologist or a computer engineer or something like that though. |

Today I had a nice long conversation with the head of Industrial Design at Carleton. He's such a cool dude.
Then I went to the OCAD section and this really annoying chick was being somewhat unhelpful... But then again my mom was like "okay, go ask her your questions", and I didn't have any questions, so I basically thought up of 3 questions that I already knew the answers to. And then I went to the OCAD presentation and it was held in this TINY room. Hahaha. No power point presentation or anything. Just some REALLY cynical elitist dude talking about how awesome OCAD is. I mean, he was sort of encouraging and he said a lot of helpful stuff, but you could tell that he wasn't really looking to sell the school to prospective students. OCAD's the kind of school where you go tot hem and not the other way around. :/ This girl asked "where would interior design fall into?", and he answered: "Well, interior design is like... the colour of carpets and rearranging furniture... so you might want to look into our environmental design program, which is a bit more complicated and profound..." OMG BURN. And then I looked into York U and I was rather unimpressed with the Fine Arts fac. BLEH. In the end, if I don't get accepted into Carleton ID I am going to CRY. |
