Well, a while back I gave my opinion regaurding how China should be a little aware about racism in Russia, and I was attacked. A few said that Russian do not beleive in "American Racism." In my opinion at least U.S. law enforcements in U.S. tries to protect its citizens, and plus this video shows that modern day Russian SkinheadZ are just as bad if not worse than ones in U.S.

I think the worst parts are at the end. Burning of passports and ID's A.K.A. their lifelines in Russia.

And Yes the footages are of "Russian Ku Klux Klansmen," in some areas of Russia it's not illegal to wear the hooded-masks which are completely outlawed in the U.S.

Am I saying that all Russians are racists, no way. I just think that Chinese people should be aware of this before any thinks of venturing into Russia. Also notice how bystanders just, well, stand or pass by. Not even giving a dame.

I saw a video of some of these attacks in russia against minorities not to long ago pretty disturbing stuff.

One more reason why the peace loving people of China will be taking over Russia soon.

I have been to St Petersburg myself and agree that Russia is racist. It is not much different from the US southern states. I lived in Texas. The attitude and the amount of racism is about the same. The difference is that in the US, there are the Federal authorities that keep the Southern local authorities in check while in Russia it's a free for all.

Just like the south, in Russia, the majority of the people are decent, but it only takes a few to wrap a chain around your neck and drag you down the road.

Stastically, you're still pretty safe and I would have no hesitation at all about going back. I do think that your warning about traveling in Russia is "the sky is falling". It exist, but not enough to warrant any changes in behavior. You ALWAYS have to be careful when traveling. No more so in Russia than New York City.

They're attacking innocent people who hasn't done any wrong and people are just watching. Atleast here in the states, someone will make attempt to help. No matter what color.

Some facts:

There are estimated 60,000 skinheads in Russia. (& around 70,000 in the rest of the world)

St Petersburg is the one with highest concentration of attacks

Skinheads circulated "instruction to hunt and kill foreigners" on internet

Many skinheads are educated univesity students

In 2004, they committed 40 murders and hundreds of attacks on ethnic ground registered by police.
Aside from the register, there are probably a lot more unreported.
