I'm sure a lot of Lao people heard of Prince Phetsarath the "Iron man of Laos". He was one of the most infuencial person is Laos in the 20th century. You can't read about Laos and not hear his name. I've read his book "prince phesarath, iron man of laos" and i can't find too many other resources about the prince or his family(wife, children, ect.) So any information will help me greatly-thanks!

Some of his children I believe still in Thailand like many of our royal family. To be honest, I don't even know how many he had. He married twice, fisrt time with a king older sister and second with a Thai lady while he organized the Lao pathin government; she die not to long ago in Thailand.

Its seems that a lot of people out there still have great respect for the royal familes and the past kings. But what about our current prince? after all he is heir to the throne and from a blood line that can be trace back to King Fa Ngum. What are your expectations of him if he becomes king. Our culture revolves around Buddhism and the monarchy. So please tell me your though about the royal family and the prince. Oh please keep the language clean.

From studying his movements , the lao prince is a person that is aware of his actions . I think he would be a good king. I think lao PDR and lao overseas should forget about the past and unite. Let the prince be a king as a figure to represent laos and have a prime minister . I know its hard for them cause since they are royal they can not get french citizenship. That makes it hard for them to get around. They miss their homeland but the time is already up. The next king of lanxang resurrection will not be of royal bloodline.

I do agree with you, king represent the land and the gov represent its people. There for, king must be from the royal blood line no exception. However, prime minister can be any one regardless of their ethnics background. Reality speaking, there's no monarchy in communism and let's leave it at that, shall we? Majority of the People (mostly over seas) still carry on the traditions and culture and yes, some do pay great respect to his royal highness blood line.

The royal house stills have hope for the people and democracry for all Laotians. Its only fair if we return the favor by having hope in the royal family. Lan Xang was built with the blood and tears of the lao people, don't forget that the royal house are also Lao.
