Can anyone give a reason as to why Japanese love to use neutral shade of colors in their arts?
When i look at Japanese color table, there is name for so many neutral colors. Very interesting.

I agree that it is nice when they focus so much on the details of the drawing. But i think that there should be some other explanations to it.

Japanese color table is full of neutral colors and the formula to mix up the elementary colors to create it.
So i think Japanese deliberately try to create that sort of effect. Maybe the result would be easier on the eye?

For example, the warm colors have all sorts of in-between colors like this:
