The fact is, although Javanese is the ethnic majority of Indonesian people (about 41% of Indonesians are Javanese), our national language (Bahasa Indonesia) was not derived from Javanese.

Instead, we took Riau Malay Language for our national language and call it Bahasa Indonesia. As the Riau Malay is a minority themselves, there won't be any objection, in contrast to if Javanese language was to be the national language.
