I used to think eating dogs is just wrong because it's disgusting but now, I think I support it now because it's Filipino tradition so my answer would be yes

I didn't think it was a Filipino Tradition to eat it. My mom said Filipinos ate it because they had to and had no money to eat anything else. I feel its more tradition to eat Lecheon and mango shake. We have so many good foods we from our culture we don't need another one. If eating dog is a tradition, I think we should forget it.

I personally don't eat dogs, but I wouldn't condemn anyone who wants to eat dog meat.
It's animal meat just like chicken, beef or pork. So I guess to each his own. Different folks, different strokes.
Just don't trick me into consuming one.

yes, it was a part of ancient filipino culture. there is not inherent difference in the eating of dogs from the eating of pigs.

No way -- dog eating is not part of mainstream Filipino culture! Killing dogs for meat has actually been banned by the Philippine government and a woman even got arrested for selling dog meat after some concerned citizens reported her to the police. Of course some people still get away with it but they're usually those tambays who like to get drunk and eat dogmeat as pulutan with their alcohol.

I didn't know that the Philippines banned dog eating already.
Dog eating is not exclusive to the Philippines you know. Koreans, Vietnamese, Chinese eat dogs too.
This is how they prepare the meat in Korea. I guess they do it this way to make the meat taste better.

My ex who was filipino told me that his dad sold his laborador retriever to a friend so his friend could eat it.
When I was a child, I went to this lady's house and she asked me to try her cooking. It was stir fried dog meat.
My cute puppy got ran over by a car. I didn't know what to do so I pulled him to the sidewalk while I ran to make a call to my mom. My Vietnamese neighbor took him and made a meal out of it.
Yep that's my experiences with dog as a food.

of course, it is not a part of the common diet of the filipino. not all pinoys eat dog. but before the law, it was no big deal if you eat dogs. well, even until now, if you eat dog, no one will make such a big fuss about it.
dog meat tastes good. i used to eat it dogs when i was a kid. but usually it is eaten as pulutan, that is how drunkards mainatain zero-stray dog in our village. i used to run errands for the street bums in my barrio so i always get my share when they cook azucena!

Rabid dogs are target practice for trigger-happy Filipinos back home.

I don't think dog meat has ever been "popular" in the Philippines because it's not even readily available and it's very hard to come by. Like what the others have mentioned, usually the ones who eat it are drunkards who kill random stray dogs.

I never ate dog meat. When I was still a kid I heard a story that when a person eats dog meat all the other live dogs will bark at you even more. Its like they can sense something inside you that you ate one of their kind and they will actually bite you. I was afraid of that and I really like dogs that's why I don't support eating dog meat but wth, if thats a good way of eliminating those stray dogs on the streets from hurting people then go ahead people eat as many dogs as you want.

FALSE. The one with the ritual is the Canao, where people are required to butcher PIGS, not dogs. Research first, before posting.
Dog eating is definitely not part of the Igorot tradition but rather it's more of a "pop culture" among FILIPINOS. You go out of the Cordilleras, you'll still see people eating dogs
