I seen pictures of Nicobar Islanders and they aren't black. They look like Southeast Asians. It is the Andamanese who live in Andaman Islands who are black/negrito

Here's a Nicobari child

Just like fair skin doesn't make someone German similarly dark skin color is not exclusive to Cambodians.

I just love your statement there, Vaman. That is so true, every situation is unique in its own way and has to be examined as such. In addition, I just don't understand why these "haters or aggravators" continue to quickly (automatically) relate to the Cambodian people or language just because they found an information on some members of speakers of the "Mon-Khmer" languages. Khmer is just one of the many (147) Mon-Khmer languages.

Old thread. Asking why the nicobaris speak a Mon-Khmer language is like asking why the Hawaiians speak a Malay language.

the peoples of the pacific especially the polynesians ancestors come from the south east asian region. they were sea farers who explored then settled on the islands of the pacific thousands of years ago. these people even reach madascagar. the people in madascagar even speak a similar langauge to some malay & indonesains islands, like the borneo language. thats why they look like khmer folks coz we all have similar ancestors. our khmer ancestors settled in the south east asia, while theirs move on & settled in the pacific islands.
