Takeshi's castle is one of my all time favorite game show. I use to watch it when i was a kid in Philippines, it was dubbed in Filipino but it was translated word for word. Here in America they made it into a funny version of it, they call it mxe, and when i saw the show and I saw the guy with the sword leading the contestant I was like that's Takeshis Castle. I was happy, but found out that they just showed clips of it together and didn't translate it, they made it crudely funny too. But am I the only one that use to watch and enjoy the original.

No you aren't! I used to watch it either a few years ago..maybe I still would if we still had the channel where it was broadcasted. The game I liked the msot was the one with the labyrinth..Lol, I loved the expresson on their faces when they got caught by those monsters or fell into the water ...Or the one where they had to take something (forgot what it was exactly) balancing on a rope while the bad guys tried to shoot them down with those cannon balls, and when they got afraid of falling down they grasped the rope so tightly lol , not many managed it..Ah and it always disturbed me that there were so few who managed to beat takeshi and his retainer in the last round where they had to burst each others ballons with water spraying out of those "carts" they had to drive...Gee, it made me think "If I was there, I would have finished him off!! ".....Hmmm, it was a nice show, japanese are funny people!


EDIT: I almost forgot of that one game where there were three pipes each time 2 players had to jump in and only one led to the right exit..It was the game before the final one to declare the finalists...That was the most exciting one imo..

I watch it here in the U.S. Here it's called Most Extreme Eliminations or just EX. I like the part where the players have to run through this maz and find a door that leads out while the monsters are looking for them.

i like the first part where they have to climb up all the fattys always lose. and the one they have to step on teh stones and some are fake. i also like the one they have to bust through thte door. its funny. and yeah i think that takeshi is a cheater, because int he end the almost always lose, only a few times did i see them win. and plus takeshi has that big @$$ water gun come on.

Seems kind of demeaning in its dubbing.

OOHhh.. nevermind... i heard of it. I thought though that Asian people might be offended because of the way that they dubbed the show. My roommates (who are also Asian) love it though. They watch it addictively.

mxe in spike is nowhere close to it. they just made like lewd and stupid stuff in teh dubbing. i mean they're funny sometimes but it was stupid just took out hte meaning like someone said here.

I'm not a fan, but I've seen this show a couple of times. I thought the dubbing was pretty funny, but it is quite racist.

lol! i remember this show! one of the games i remember was that they have to climb this sort of a narrow hill and then styro rocks will be made rolling downhill and there are like pockets where the people can hide but there are people who push them out so that the rocks would roll on them. hell lot of funny

Oh yeah, the contestants themselves are funny in itself. It's funny to see them mess up but in a good way.

I don't know, I don't really see what's racist about dubbing because it's not like they dubb the voice in some fake Japanese guy with a bad accent or make fun of Asians. Or maybe I just don't pay attention much to what they are saying.

do you guys know if the captian that lead the contestants is an actor, i remember him from a "power ranger" like show shaider in philippines. he was also like the captian.

Well they don't make fun of the Japanese contestants, but they have this superiority tone to their lines and voice. Just my opinion.

heheh, Takeshi's Castle is showed in Fox cable. I hav 2 admit it's pretty funny, specially when the ppl do silly things. I really like the maze/labyrinth coz it's funny watching them try to run away frm those big guys. And I also like the part where the contestants land on the water when they step on fake stones or when they try to go through the wall. Hmm...I think my fave episode was the one where the contestants actually had to do sing a song and they had to translate it or sumtin.
And oh yeah there was also that mud field where the contestants had to catch the soccer ball and it landed on one of the contestants heads. But yah, barely anyone ever won on that show.

yeah i really want to join the show, remember the one it's kinda new where they have to shoot other contestants? i think, in wild animal costume.
