I calculated Vietnam's GDP Per Capita using the 10% annual growth. I think that Vietnam can obtain the 10% annual growth and the GDP Per Capita will reach almost $50,000 by 2050. Of course, this is a very idealistic goal but it is possible if Vietnam focuses in developing and improving its economy.

______________

Estimation of GDP Per Capita for Vietnam (10% annual growth)

2000, $400
2005, $644
2010, $1037
2015, $1670
2020, $2690
2025, $4333
2030, $6979
2035, $11240
2040, $18103
2045, $29156
2050, $46956

it is not likely that vietnam will sustain a rate that high forever. no industrial country is growing at that rate. vietnam is growing fast now because it is at almost the bottom, therefore it has lots of room to grow.

WOW THAT'S GREAT! and if you grow 10% per year for 100 years, which is very possible and probable, you know what will be the GDP per capita of Vietnam? $5.512.244,94!!! 1 vietnamese in 2100 will receive more than 126 north americans today! that is great isn't?

you know what will i be if i get a fixed interest rate of 10% per year, for 25 years? a millionaire! gosh, gotta love geometric progressions!

To achieve 10% growth rate ,Vietnam needs experienced Viet kieu to return and set up more manufactures and export companies.Don't go back before a few years of working for western corporations.
