i was born in Tiger year ปีขาล. My friend was named Tiger ^^. One was named กระต่าย bcos she was born in Rabbit year. Tiger and Rabbit are an enemy to eachother.

With Songkran in April is Thai new year also year of the Pig ??

This year is Pig year, all Thais know this and every Thai know of their animal years. i dont know if way to call year like this is from Chinese. but surely every chinese people know their animal year too.

What I meant is that if you're talking about Thai pig year then surely it doesn't start until April .

Whereas Chinese Pig Year starts in 2 days time and I thought you were referring to Chinese NY when you submitted this post .

Do Thais use the same animals for the same years ?

You are in circle of my bad english already^^! sorry for that. i was thinking about Chinese new year but my thought was going beyond that so???? . This is the first time i heard of this vocab Boar, a male pig. i think Thai animal year is mostly same as Chinese's but only chinese dragon year is giant snake in Thai year. but we aware of these two.

And yes Thais use the same animal for the same years (12 years in a circle). and it starts in April.

I was born in the year of the Boar (1983). I've dated two of my matches too...lol My ex was a dragon (long relationship dragon+boar) and my current one is a Sheep/Goat/Ram (happiest relationship/match for sheep+boar).
