I try...but I don't have time eat, never mind trying to get portions of fruit or veg into those meals.
Do you take supplements or something to try and work your way around it?

No and no.
I rarely eat enough vegetables or fruits. I usually only eat them when I'm at a restaurant.

Multi-vitamins. 5 servings isn't actually a lot if you eat balanced meals, but I usually don't.

I managed to get 4 portions in today....kinda...
1. I had some salad in a smoked salmon sandwich for lunch
2. A side of peas for dinner
3. A side of runner beans too
4. An apple
....Does the orange bit in a biscuit count?

Both. I buy fruits like once every other month. The only vegetables that I would eat are the little tid bits that are served in certain dishes. I go to a restaurant like once or twice per week.

you know if you're really lazy, dole makes these pre-tossed salad bags with a packet of dressing and croutons... lol... pre-tossed... we've gotten so lazy...
i buy one every week or so and even though i have 3 other people in my family, i end up eating it all by myself over the course of 3 days or so...
EDIT: my mom forces me to eat fruit.

such a hassle. why eat fruit when you can eat chocolate or chips lol. the fact that you have to wash and cut them is such a turn off.

What do you normally eat at home?
I must admit that some days I don't eat any fruit or vegetables at all, but it's not that frequent. I know it's bad...but where can you fit in vegetables on a pepporoni pizza which you're eating it by yourself? I can't eat salad with that, I'd be too full! And I don't eat lunch during the day...usually it's like a packet of crisps and a bounty.

I absolutely love fresh fruit! When it's too expensive and out of season, I buy large cans of fruits and keep it cool in the fridge. At lunch, I try to get two different veggies-even some of the ones I don't particularly enjoy. So yes I try to get those fruits and veggies in daily. And it is hard to eat a lot of food. but small portions are the key.

I agree with Disco Gestapo when she said that eating vegies is easier than eating fruits. I don't know why, any scientific explanation for this?
I go with you on the watermelons. Drop-dead delicious.
And then there's mangoes, rambutans, durians .....

That is a possibility, both the 'can't fit fruit into meals' and 'too sweet' part.
Yea, fruits are usually taken for deserts, so it's no wonder if we have less attachment to fruits than to vegetables. ^__~

Well it's no secret there that you look young.
Alot of green leafy vegetables have antioxidant that will give you a younger look and better skin complexion.
Vitamin K that is present in green vegetables helps blood clotting and makes your blood cycle better.
Anyone who had their parents nagging them about eating vegetables they are right cause it's good for you.

we live off of fruits and veggies. my dad's always had a strict regimen of fruit salad for breakfast with milk...very light lunch including a fresh squeezed glass of juice (grapes, apples, organes, pears, and pineapple) and some tea later on. And a very light dinner....rarely any meat in the diet.
as a result...we buy nearly $100 worth of fruits and veggies in the house every two weeks...no frozen food...no soda...no chips...no high-sugar cereal. so i have to get my junk-food intake when i go out.
it's a super-healthy way of living... and i absolutely love all my veggies.
latest fruit i've been obessessing over is the pomegranate. so yummy and high in antioxidants. the only thing i need to improve is drinking more water.

multi vits... So happy most of it says 100% XD
I mostly eat protein... like eggs, soy, fish, and chicken (7oz) with a side of Veggies usually greens (1.5 cups raw/2 cups cooked). And repeat for lunch and dinner. lol
I prefer to eat fruits as snacks though instead of veggies. But I never have time to go buy it ...

A portion or serving is only a cup i think... so if you have a cup of salad.. that isnt much. a cup os pea or corn is different ... lol

Quite often, I try fitting the balance of nutrition from foods such as eating a salad or buying a couple of fruits in the produce isle every few days; including drinking those fresh bottled fruit drinks or yogurt, and at times settling with mostly oats such as granola bars, wheat bread and some oatmeal when I'm personally eating.
Although I'm not too resolved as I should be, it's not a bad idea to just check yourself every once and a while. That way, habits won't seriously overcome you and making it a lot harder to break them. Chewing down a few fries or one juicy steak isn't going to be the end of your healthy lifestyle. It's fine to spoil yourself. But of course, not a daily basis.
