Bonifacio and Rizal are heroes in our country... but Rizal was the one proclaimed as a national hero.
But i think Bonifacio is the one to be our national hero coz he really fight for our country's independence. Yes, Rizal died in Luneta but he made an agreement that he wants the Philippines to be a province of Spain.
What do you think?

Really? Rizal wanted Philippines to be a province of Spain? I never knew that....

If that was the case I might juz change my mind and go for Bonifacio to be the national hero instead.

it sounds bad so but you can't blame the gat. i mean pi was already a province of spain, and also rizal didn't have the wildest dream that the individual provinces of pi would unite, i mean spain still had the hold in pi, not until the americans helped out by sending aguinaldo and fighting the spanish in all parts of the world did we had actual hope of kicking out the spanish. the revolt would have lasted and spain was already weak, but still logically rizal would have thought it was half crazy to actually have real philippine independence, so if this is true id say that rizal would have wanted at least to barter for partial independence.

you know what, i read something in a book that maybe the americans during the early 1900's looked for a role model for the Filipino people to look up upon. They chose and made Rizal the official Philippines hero after the Spaniards have been defeated, i guess they chose him because of his accomplishments...............or not
maybe they just chose Rizal over Bonifacio because to them, Bonifacio is a bad example and his revolutionary traits and anti American occupation might spark some hatred or revolutions towards them......

but then, i think Bonifacio is more deserving to become a national hero. Mas makabayan at mas pro-independence siya kaysa kay Rizal.
Bonifacio fought for our independence and Rizal fought only for equal treatment of the Filipinos from the Spaniards-for reform.

to me rizal and bonifacio are both very noble filipinos, but i don't think that anyone is greater thatn the other sacrifices. they both lost their lives for the cause, it's just rizal were more like ghandi, while bonifacio took the stance of bolivar. but since rizal had been given the title, i don't think it should be changed, just cause for generations we had looked at him as the symbol, yet we cant deny the sacrifices of the supremo.
