I know the Igorots of Luzon have an Administrative Region. But what about the Lumads of Mindanao? You know the Lumads are said to predate the Igorot ppl since the Lumads were the first to immigrate to the Philippines from Taiwan and settled in the Southern island and the Igorot followed after and merely settled in the Northern island. I don't think the Lumads are as seemingly unified as the Igorot, but even so, the Lumads have a rich indigenous culture & heritage that i feel needs to be perserved as well cause it keeps our roots alive.

the only real Lumad article i know of is in the Kalinaw Mindanaw website (peace for & co-existance for all inhabitants of Mindanao):

http://www.mindanao.com/kalinaw/people/people1.htm
http://www.mindanao.com/kalinaw/people/lumad-strugge.htm

can anyone tell me what they know about the Lumads? I'm guessing the most famous Lumad ppl are the T'Boli? confused.gif

I know a lumad who works in an NGO called Mindanawon in Mindanao. They have this project of collecting old Lumad adages. They are about to publish it last that i've heard. A nice way of preserving their culture don't you think?
Ek-ek
They even preserved their dress.
