The other day i over heard one indian guy from the shop next door saying to a friend of mine and his friends that
"the pain we take by getting married with an non-indian always pinch our heart like a pepper"
what is that suppose to mean anyway?
what do u presume it means
it seem it could be a positive or negative comment depending on how u look at it?

Yeah, basically it sounds pretty negative opinion on non-Indians. Then again I guess it also depends on the age of someone, as socially older people are less open towards foreigners as the world wasn't as "global" in the past.
Personally I get really annoyed nowerdays with such attitudes, and any kind of preference I possibly had towards getting an Indian girl above anyone else has been lost completely.

i agree, it's definitely a negative statement...it probably means that when u marry a non-indian, you will end up getting hurt, or there will be conflicts, misunderstandings etc...the older generation would really like you to believe that all conflict can be avoided if you marry an indian. i dont agree with that at all...if you grow up in similar enviroments (i.e. america, uk, canada) the two of you (indian and non-indian couple) will most likely get along and see eye to eye on most things. it depends on the two ppl in the relationship and their views on life more than the views of their parents.
if family interference from both sides is kept to a minimum, then the relationship can flourish much better than if the in-laws were constantly putting in their two cents.
i think in this world it's hard enough to find someone with whom you're truly compatible, so when you do you should try your best to work things out with that person, and not be completely influenced by the views of your parents, or other family members. in the end, it's the two of you in the relationship, not everyone else, and it's completely up to you two to make it work.

I`ts not positive at all!
He is trying to speak on behalf of all Indians, while also trying to influence his friends that it hurts him to his heart to see Idians marry non- Indians. It`s clear.

Oooh, a Chinese chick that likes Indian guys

!
That's pretty rare, isn't it? Atleast at my uni, you never see Indian/Chinese couples at all. Though this could be because of the relatively few Indian ppl here. Is this the case at other post secondary institutions as well?
