to each his own!
I bet you wouldnt think the same if your paycheck is cut damn near half every year. The more you earn, the more you get taxed. How is that fair? Obviously you earn more than the average joe because you work harder, a system that dont appreciate that.. kind of sucks :p
The only way free health care can benefit you is if you have disabilities, you are old or if you're very sick, BUT ooohh not tooooo sick. Because if you are too sick, you might die waiting in line for free health care.
Now if you are just healthy normal person, does the free health care really worth almost 40% of your income EVERY year? No way, if you ask me :p I can count on one hand how many times I've been to the doctor's office in the past 2 or 3 years. I would gladly pay $100 or heck even $300 a visit just for when I need the treatment. And of course, the health insurance from work would help a great deal too if needed be. One thing for sure though, health insurance does not cost 40% of my annual income.
Granted, Canada does have excellent infrastructure and good education.. but you can pretty much find the same qualities in other first world countries. And those other countries dont rape their people from their hard earned money..
Welfare money for bums who are too lazy to work or teenage mothers who have babies just because they want absolute freedom from their parents. Why work, when you can get free money from the government? Except that its not really free money.. somebody has to pay, and unfortunately it is you. :p
lol i've lived long enough in this country to not even care how much im being taxed. besides, with all the tax i get an amount returned from the government anyways.
id rather have my govt pay for my kid's prep and high school and pay less for food and housing ... besides canada isnt as rich as everyone thinks compared to other countries, hence everything revolves around taxing.
and with all this tax, standard of living is still at par if not better than most first world countries. pretty good for a heavily taxed population...
if you're living a single person working for your own income, canada is not the ideal place.
but to raise a family, canada is the place.
