A teener to watch out for
in Philippine motorsportsTyson Sy started out when he joined the local motorsports scene at age 11.
He was cited in the Asian Formula 3 history books as the youngest podium finisher when he climbed third in the overall standings in the race held at the Subic International Raceway.
Early that month [april], he was able to show his talent before the crowd watching the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix where he engaged veteran Chinese ace and prerace favorite Marchy Lee in an exciting duel during the Formula BMW Asia supporting race.
If all goes well, he is scheduled go to Europe next year to further harness his skills as he plans to compete in European Formula BMW or Formula Renault.

RP students to compete
in Brazilian tech tiltFOUR students from Ateneo De Manila (ADMU) and the De La Salle University (DLSU) are hoping to bag the major prize in this year's Imagine Cup, a technology contest that pits college students from around the world.
The group's project called Panorama is a PDA-installed software that acts as a location-based delivery system. It primarily uses Global Positioning System (GPS), but can also use Bluetooth, wi-fi (wireless fidelity) and a cellular network to acquire information regarding a user's current location.

'Green' church soon to
rise in Smokey MountainTHE COUNTRY'S first Earth-friendly Roman Catholic church building will soon rise from the partially rehabilitated Smokey Mountain, formerly the world's biggest garbage dump which for decades also symbolized national disgrace.
"Imagine solar panels that will convert sunlight into electricity, a water catchment system that will collect rainfall for reuse in the church garden and elsewhere, waterless composting toilets and natural air-ventilation systems that will be less dependent on fossil fuel sources, among other features of the green building," Beltran [SVD priest benigno beltran] told the Inquirer.

DOST developing taro
as new RP item for exportBAGUIO CITY -- The Department of Science and Technology is developing a root crop, known here as an animal feed, as a food item for export.
He said the women [housewives in barangay saddle] started producing taro ketchup and taro maja blanca. They are now experimenting with taro kutsinta (native cake) and taro pastillas (candy).
