IS Bisayan considered one large ethnic group? Because I know it can be broken up into Hiligaynon, Cebuano, Waray etc. But I hear more ppl just say they're Bisayan instead of being more specific. Why is that? Because you never hear Ilocanos, Tagalogs, and Bicolanos uniting under one ethinc group simply because they all live on Luzon. So why do Bisayans do that? There must be a really strong cultural connection.

i think only cebuanos are called bisayans because we cant see/hear the difference of the language of the two(but now cebuanos are called Bisdak by some to seperate the probinsyanos(non-cebu bisayans)..since cebu is a major city). warays and hiligaynons and the others are minorities in manila so they are called as bisayans too..but ilonggo arent since theyre too many of them here....

My Father is Half Kapampangan and Half Tagalog but grew up in Bulacan. My Mother is half Tagalog and Half Chinese but also grew up in Bulacan making me Half Tagalog, 1/4 Kapampangan and 1/4 Chinese and 100% Bulakenyo.
Regarding the Visayan term I think all bisayan people can understand each other. Ilonggo and Cebuano people have some difficulty understanding each other's language but can still comprehend. And they all live in an area collectively known as the "Visayan Islands".

No not really, Im from Aklan and we speak kinaray-ah and i dont understand ilonggo, Cebuano, Waray, Surigaonon, etc i might catch a words or two when they speak or even understand some of the sentence but generally I cant communicate with them using kinaray-ah and them using their own dialects. That or perhaps they speak really fast that it sounded like it was a totaly different language to me.

Mostly Basque/Vasco.
1/4 Catalán.
Between 1/16 and 1/8 Bacoleño Ilongo-Chinese mestizo.
1/16 Dutch (one of my great-great-grandmothers was born in Batavia, Jakarta).
The rest is most likely Castellano.
I am only able to speak a combination of "Coño" English and Spanglish. I can understand some Tagalog, but it is almost impossible for me to communicate in pure Filipino (my parents don't speak it at all at home).

mom - kapampangan from pampanga
dad - bisaya from cebu
I have spanish blood from my mom and I'm not sure about from dad (if American or Spanish too) as I look Hispanic-Anglo (minus the blue eyes and blonde hair.)
I consider kapampangans as the most inferior tribe in the country (I hate my mom) and the bisaya as the most superior ones. So pagsumahon average lang ako. ahahahaha!

... but I can speak fluent tagalog with no ala-kris aquino-taglishing language... astig ba?
