Because Japanese thinks that they are superior asains.
I have never hearld a Japanese willingly refer them to westernes as Asains .
but with a smiling assurance that , yes they are asains , but they are japanese , that

But isnt this always the truth
It's because there are many MTV Channels and since Japan has the 2nd largest music industry it has it's own MTV, MTV Japan. Then the rest of Asia is in MTV Asia. I think Korea is getting their own MTV too now.
Yup, Japan has its own MTV Japan awards every year.
