Seems like Filipino people are prohibited to conduct rallies. In Pres. GMA inaugural speech, she said that we must put behind EDSA I, II, and III... in which i think, she's indirectly saying that people must stop to rally. Do the rights of the people is gone? Do you think this is some kind of a marshall law thing? What can you say?

There is no "Martial Law" . What about the rights of the other people ? Like the motorists and students who were stuck in the traffic ?

The traffic yesterday were all over the Metro Manila area ,where in fact it was only in Quezon Avenue that 4,000 or so crowd rallied. The police had given them an ultimatum because they do not have any rally permit but still insisted so after the ultimatum they were naturally dispersed!

I was one of the people who was stuck in the traffic yesterday!!!!
and I am living several kilometers in Novaliches...............

Hmm! I think P!GMA is just preparing or trying to condition the people not to start another EDSA again.

icon_rolleyes.gif Yes, But it was terrible last June 29 afternoon !

We were so affected that traffic was stuck -up for almost 2 hours and almost everyone was cursing these rally and the rains was heavy enough to also cause more problems ................

Quezon Avenue was several kilometers away from our place like around 10 kilometers or so.

the people are still allowed to conduct rallies but in respect to laws that are in place. for example, you need permits to do rallies and people do not respect that, so why should they respect your right to rally? tit for tat. a law is a law. ignorance exempts no one.

and besides, there was never an EDSA III. that was civil disobedience. i really didnt understand why it was called another EDSA. and people power is pointless since the time it happened in 1986. yes, people did come together to topple a dictator yet after that, it was up to the government again. everyone didn't care again. Pres. Manuel Quezon's wish did came true after all...

better the Philippines be run like hell by Filipinos than be run like heaven by colonizers
we're still cursed. but freedom was our price. we got what we want. we should make quezon's wish untrue starting now.

But, I prefer to be a US colony or Japan colony rather than a free but lack of discipline, corrupt, non- environment aware people !

btw, side info: the US never wanted us to be a state ever since.. only a colony.

i think this should be another topic. beerchug.gif

Well, back to the main topic.

Whenever there is a rally , they tend to make "hakot" from either the poor students like me or to the poor people in the depress areas.

yup, that's sad. ei, did you know that there are actually people who came from the provinces that are now living there and their job is to attend rallies?

Profession: Rally Crowd Gatherer
Job description: shout "Welga!" "Tutol kami!" "Tama na!" "Itakwil!" etc.
