Okay...here's the sitch...my cousin has been going to Vietnam off and on for about a year. We just thought he liked the scenery...obviously there was something he really did like. He came home a week ago with a surprise bride! She speaks virtually no English, and we (the family) are equally illiterate when it comes to HER native language. I have been surfing different sites, looking for basic phrases that we can use...learn a few at a time. The one word she managed to teach us is sin chow...(hello and goodbye?). I have found a few other words that we can use, but am coming up short with something very important to us. Here in the South, you never part company with family with a heartfelt "I love you". I can find the phrase when it is spoken from a man to a woman and when spoken from a woman to a man...but can't for the life of me find how to properly say "I love you" when it's coming from one woman to another (mother to daughter, sister to sister, etc.) Can anyone help? Also, know of any good sites for this kind of thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated...we are hosting a wedding shower for the happy couple a week from today...it'd be nice to be able to communicate! Thanks!
