My gramps is getting old so he gave us a computer that another relative had bought for him. It's an eMachines. Anyways, he lost all the wires and etc to connect the monitor and the adapter. Basically we have everything but the wires and adapter. So, can you just buy the wires and power adapter by itself or do we have to buy everything together?

yeah, I'm not really tech savvy.

You can buy the wire to connect the monitor to the PC anywhere. Just make sure you know what sides you need on each end (Male / Female).

The power plug.. depends on the monitor.. Is it flat screen or Chunky?

Then they normally are powered up by the same type of power plug computers use.
