I doubt it's just Indians, but young American teenagers who want to vote for someone their own age. I really doubt many adults, Indian or not, would want to vote for Sanjaya. But he still has many fans voting for him, mostly for the wrong reasons that have little to do with his singing. Most of his voters are probably teenagers anyway. American Idol seems like more of a popularity contest rather than a singing contest.
