India figures ninth among 13 countries in a list measuring corruption levels while doing business in Asia that had the Philippines at the top as the most corrupt nation, according to a survey published Wednesday.
India scored 6.67 points, and was followed only by Vietnam (7.54), Indonesia and Thailand (both at 8.03) and the Philippines (9.4 points).

Taiwan came fifth with 6.23 points and was followed by Malaysia (6.25), China (6.29) and South Korea (6.3). In the survey scale of 0 to 10, Singapore scored a high 1.2.
The poll was compiled through interviews with nearly 1,500 businessmen in 126 countries and territories on their perceptions of corruption in Asian countries. Interviews were conducted in January and February.
At the same time, Japan was considered the least stressful country to do business, followed by Malaysia and the Philippines in the second spot with 4.50 points.
Despite escalating Islamic insurgency, Thailand came third with 4.73 points, followed by Singapore (5.00), Hong Kong (5.30), Taiwan (6.00), China and India (6.25), Vietnam (6.50), South Korea (6.67) and Indonesia (7.33).
'Money does not buy peace of mind. With the exception of Japan, Asia's wealthiest economies were ranked in the middle of the pact,' said the Hong Kong based consultancy.
