i mean i thought cebuano is the second largest in number of speakers in the philippines. and there is this contravesey in the past for it to be the national language instead of tagalog. but now someone's looking for cebuano language books and there is like maybe 2 or 3 ones available. do they print cebuano language books in the philipipnes?

Yeah, I hears you. Injustice. I would only argue that having to learn 2 or 3 Filipino languages only make us more Filipino. Whatever (Cebu > Manila) and (Davao > Manila)...

its because Visayan books doesn't sell much and it's practical for a Visayan writer to translate his works to english/filipino so that more Filipinos would understand it.

^yup, yup...and i think also because bisayan is a more vocal dialect. stories are not written, but it's passed down from speaker to listener, and so on...I guess our dialect just doesn't look good in-text :P

If you happen to be in Cebu, visit USC's Cebuano heritage center art P.del rosario. You can view the a good cebuano/bisaya dictionary. The visayan translations for the months are quite amusing.
