LET ME BEGIN BY SAYING I AM IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH AN AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE AND LET ME ADD, A VERY RESPECTFUL,GENEROUS, GOOD LOOKING GUY WHO IS NOT RACIST TOWARDS FILIPINOS BUT WHENEVER WE GO OUT AND RUN INTO OTHER FILIPINOS, WE GET FUNNY LOOKS AND HOSTILE ATTITUDES. WE ARE BOTH VERY INTELLIGENT YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE IN CONTROL OF THEIR OWN LIVES!! AND WHY DO THESE AMERICANIZED FILIPINOS DRESS HIP HOP AND TALK LIKE THEIR BLACK BUT DONT KNOW HOW TO ACT WHEN THERE IS A BLACK PERSON AROUND...WHAT THE HELL?!?!? I'M OPEN TO ANY MATURE FEEDBACK..
Calm down, Michelle Malkin. >_>
See, one of the problems I see here is that
...generations older than yours were conditioned to believe, "White is Right, Black is whack [wrong]." >_>
They believe that you're doing them a disservice when you marry black, as the beliefs about marrying whites is that "a person marries upward."
...ethnocentrism is put in play. Again, they believe that 'your own race' is "the fine line whether you marry up or down in society." Hell, I've heard horror stories about Asian parents who disown their kids, on the grounds they're dating, let alone, marrying out of the race, so to speak.
I commend you for answering the question of "Who?" and not "What?" when it comes to relationships.
